Game counter movement demo

Part of an ongoing web-browser implemention of the board game Sixth Fleet using custom JavaScript classes and OpenLayers.

Important: This project is intended as a personal technology competence demonstrator. Although old, Sixth Fleet should be considered copyright material and will not be distributed. The site developer owns the original board game and this web version is for the developer's personal use and experimentation only.

Instructions

  1. Click on a game counter e.g. a submarine - the valid hexes to move to are highlighted in green
  2. Click on a green hex - the movement hex is labelled with 1 and the next possible movement hexes are highlighted
  3. Click on further green hexes until no more movement is allowed (max hex movement is the number in the top left of the game counter)
  4. Undo a hex movement by pressing the Backspace button on the keyboard
  5. Cancel movement by pressing the Esc button on the keyboard - the game counter will be rotated sideways and cannot be moved again
  6. Complete movement by pressing the Enter button on the keyboard - the game counter will be rotated sideways and cannot be moved again

Note 1: Clicking on a hex containing multiple game counters (e.g. the aircraft in Sicily) will open a window prompting you to select the game counters in that hex. You can select multiple game counters to move from that origin hex.

Note 2: Aircraft game counters can only finish their movement in a hex containing a friendly base e.g. the hex they started in.
